At any one time, UT holds about 5000 South Asians – a pretty considerable number. Equally impressive is the number of South Asian-related societies on campus. But none of these is a student media group - except Nazar.
"Nazar", or perspective, is what we want to bring to the South Asian scene at UT. As students here, we're in a position to offer a different perspective on events in the subcontinent – and we can offer our own cultural spin on things, too. How does the quota system in the subcontinent's universities compare to affirmative action in US colleges? What is it about yoga and Bollywood that captivates American audiences?
If you're interested in questions like this, then Nazar is the place to be. Whether you want to write, be part of the web design team, or become a junior officer, we'd love to hear from you. Show us what you've got. We're listening. And we make sure others do too.
The positions open at Nazar include Junior Officers, Writers and Web Designers. Particularly, as a Junior Officer, you get to head your own committees and learn the ropes in a brand new organization – and that's the best kind of learning experience.
Please fill out the form below to indicate your interest and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you feel you can contribute to Nazar in other ways, such as in marketing, publicity, etc., please indicate that in the "Position interested in:" box.
To be part of Nazar is to be one of a pioneer team of people interested in anything South Asian.
